SARAH EATON – FRENITURE

This entry seeks to provide an alternative to the “rehab trolley” _that people are often provided with on discharge from hospital. A person may be able to make a hot drink or meal independently, and mobilise to where they would like to sit, but for a range of reasons may not be able to independently transport their food or drink to where they would like to be. It also provides the means to take a book to read or device to connect with the world to a favourite chair.

It seeks to add to the person’s experience of home, versus detracting from it; to add beauty to something that allows a person to live how they would like to.

Definition: “Freniture” _(furniture that promotes freedom).
